Who am I?

Letting go of everything that was before. Beginning with a blank sheet of paper. What would like to be written?

It begins with the breath. It all begins and ends with the breath. Two or three rhythmic breaths to calm the nervous system, to centre myself within my body. To begin the process of focussing. It’s clear the breath is a non-negotiable part of the answer.

The answer - key to any answer is the precise formulation of the question. Let’s start there. The fundamental components of all questions being the 5W’s – Who? Why? What? Where? When?

Realising that I want to create impact and recognising previous ways I have done that. The beginning of the questioning process begins with “What do I want to be known for?”

Starting the questioning in the abstract, to remain open to the expanded awareness of the detail.

• What do I want to be known for?
• Who am I - what do I do naturally as an innate part of my being-ness?
• Why do I want to be known? Why do I want to have impact?
• What do I enjoy doing?
• Where do I enjoy being?
• When – what is the short-term, medium-term, and long-term vision?
  
  

Why do I want to be known?

There is a feeling inside me that I’ve had, and I am now missing. The embodiment of knowing that I am having impact, making a difference, that I am competent. I remember walking the corridors of any of the businesses I’ve worked in, with a knowing of purpose in my cells. This is what I am searching for now.

I feel it and recognise it as my Moon in Leo. Being known. Having impact. Having Purpose. Being visible/seen/recognised. I’ve often wondered what the moon in Leo feels like. This.

Purpose. A word corrupted during my spiritual journey with judgement from self and others. Presented as a ‘soul contract’ or a path that can be either wrong or right, paralysing to a person with a need to be right. A way of attributing reward or punishment depending on fulfilment of the path. Eventually I ask - Contracted with whom? Judged by whom? Rewarded or sanctioned by whom?

I come back to myself. I’d like to reclaim Purpose as a personal choice. The origins of the word are from proposer. To put or set forth. To place. The Cambridge dictionary expands this into why. Why you do something, or why something exists.

ShaRyn with a Why – ShaRyn with a Purpose – ShaRyn who set forth her own Why. Sharyn who challenges recognised wisdom, whether it’s traditional wisdom or new wisdom.

Is this THE why? Setting forth your own why.

In this we have the Why, but what about the who? Who do I want to be seen as?

Having thought of the moon in the need to feel known and recognised (Leo) for something, I now consider the Sun – my essence. Noting first that it’s integrated (conj) with Venus – my values. Demonstrating the lack of difference between my essence and my values. Authenticity.

In Aquarius, the contrast of tradition and collective individuality, the Sabian Symbol is "The deserter from the navy" (Sun) - commitment and loyalty to the establishment (Saturn) until that challenges the commitment and loyalty to self (Uranus). More pointers towards Setting forth your own Why

Not forgetting the values of Venus, the Sabian Symbol of which is "The Unexpected Thunderstorm", all life is ephemeral. Lack of permanence, even in truth. This feeding into the Moon again, SS "The old woman and the up-to-date girl". The combination of Traditional and Modern. In opposition, so an invitation to evaluate and calibrate. It’s not enough to feel seen, it’s also necessary to be seen authentically, the Deserter from the Navy.

Be seen. Be heard. Be authentic. Be unattached. Be willing to change - Publicly.
